Rubedo Life Sciences is a longevity biotechnology company with active research programs related to age-related diseases with a focus on inflammation and fibrosis. We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Histology Technician/ Histotechnologist to help build the capabilities needed for translational research and preclinical development, advancing the discovery of molecular targets and therapeutics for age-related pathobiologies. A successful candidate will have extensive experience with manual and automated histological techniques, excellent organizational and record keeping skills, the desire to learn new laboratory methods, and the ability to follow protocols with attention to detail.Responsibilities:Receive and prepare tissue specimens for routine and special proceduresPerform histological techniques including accessioning, tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, cryotomy, staining, and slide imaging and fluorescent microscopy.Maintain accurate tissue, slide, and lab recordsClean and maintain instruments and work areasPrepare reagents, solutions, and control slidesOrganize and file slides and blocksComply with established laboratory policies and proceduresCommunicate and present results to colleaguesRequirements:Histology Technician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) certificationMore than 3 years of histology experienceTechnical competence in fixation, processing, embedding, sectioning and IHC stainingIn depth knowledge of basic tissue histology/pathologyExcellent record-keeping and organizational skills and attention to detailsAbility to organize and prioritize assigned tasks for completion within expected time-framesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficient with Google Workspace software or comparable softwareExperience in one or more of the following are desirable: immunofluorescence/chromogenic staining, multiplexing, ventana discovery ultra usage (autostainer abilities), zeiss axioscan usage (scanning abilities), antibody validation, image analysis (visiopharm), cell pellet preparation, special stains, working with pathologists, presentation skillsEnvironmental Conditions / Physical Demands:80% of time onsite conducting wet lab workProlonged periods of standing at laboratory tablesPhysical: Lifting up to 20 lbs occasionally, standing, bending, repetitive movement, etc.Environmental risks: Exposure to wet lab environment, blood borne pathogens, and toxic or caustic chemical or reagentsRubedo Life Sciences, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity at our company.
