Orthopaedic Institute - Operating RoomFull TimeJob SummaryThe OR Hospital Assistant, under the direction of the registered nurse and patient care management team, will participate as an integral member of the patient care team. Performs multiple support functions directed toward positive patient care outcomes. Responsible for supporting all aspects of peri-operative services to ensure efficiency, prep, and turnover of rooms. Works at all UCSF locations and ambulatory surgery sites.Required QualificationsTwo years hands-on experience in a healthcare environmentActive American Heart Association CPR CertificationAbility to work within a teamAbility to satisfactorily perform job duties as defined in the job descriptionWillingness to be taught/learn new skillsAbility to understand and communicate effectively in English both orally and in writingAbility to perform basic arithmetic computations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)Ability to organize work dutiesAbility to move heavy equipment and boxesAbility to operate some complex machineryKnowledge of or ability to acquire knowledge of and proactive basic aseptic technique when carrying out assignmentsAbility to set priorities within work assignmentExemplary customer serviceThis position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.Preferred QualificationsOne year related OR experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience working in an ambulatory surgery environmentLicense/CertificationActive American Heart Association CPR CertificationAbout UCSFAt UCSF Health, our mission of innovative patient care, advanced technology and pioneering research is redefining what's possible for the patients we serve - a promise we share with the professionals who make up our team.
