Unit Nurse Manager / RN

you will:Responsible for managing the operation of a nursing unit in a large facility.Perform general management functions such as hiring, disciplining, and evaluating employees.Plan and facilitate meetings and committees to address resident care issues for the unit.Manage area of responsibility with the goal of achieving and maintaining the highest quality of care possible.Participate in developing, implementing and evaluating programs that promote the recruitment, retention, development and continuing education of nursing staff members.Contact physicians as necessary and ensure physicians' interventions are timely and appropriate.Review staffing patterns and census of nursing units, and reassign personnel when necessary to ensure staffing meets resident needs and budgetary controls.Monitor the clinical operations of the unit and residents' conditions and ensure that appropriate and quality care is administered.Obtain medications, supplies and medical records needed to provide safe, efficient and therapeutic care to residents on a continuing basis.Assist in the orientation of new personnel, monitor their skills, and guide and observe staff who may need assistance with procedures.Participate in the facility's "Performance Improvement Program."QualificationsGraduate of an accredited school of nursing, BS preferred.Valid Registered Nurse / RN license in the state.Valid CPR Certification.Seven years experience in nursing, two years of which was supervisory in a long-term care environment.
