Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in educational technology, Management Information Systems, or related field; Master’s Degree preferred; supplemented by a minimum of three (3) years’ experience within a government or corporate training environment.Demonstrated experience in implementing and administering an LMS at the enterprise level.Experience in identifying and analyzing workflow to improve and automate processes to meet business needs.Strong project management skills, oral and written communication skills.Experience working with Microsoft Office, HTML development, content management systems, and e-learning authoring tools.Experience with PeopleSoft preferred; experience with cloud-based LMS is desired; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTSPossession and maintenance of a valid Florida driver's license throughout employment without restrictions that may affect job performance.Under administrative direction, the purpose of this position is to support the implementation, operation, and ongoing tasks of the Learning Management System (LMS) within the Training Division of the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. Position operates and controls the integration and functional aspects of the LMS, e-learning, and document management solutions serving the agency. Position provides strategic collaboration for agency-wide learning solutions in collaboration with the Training Division’s Executive Officer while partnering with cross-functional stakeholders, technical staff, and LMS providers. Performs related work as directed.The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification. The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such functions are a logical assignment to the position.While the following tasks are necessary for the work of the unit, they are not an essential part of the purpose of this position and may also be performed by other unit members:Provides day-to-day support of the system including: set up, maintenance, and updating course configuration/settings in the course catalog. Ensures that courses delivered through the LMS are tested and functioning properly.Assigns user roles, securities, and permissions; manages users, groups, and course assignments.Monitors internal system notifications; retains accountability for technical issue resolutions and provides LMS end-user support.Responsible for ensuring all software licensing is current and valid through the Information Technology Division (ITD).Defines and implements workflows; acts as a liaison with the LMS vendor, Human Resources Information Management (HRIM), ITD staff, and training staff.Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for the LMS administration; collaborates with and advises instructional designers, course developers, and key stakeholders in appropriate learning solutions that fit within the hardware and software infrastructure.Performs system maintenance and data integrity activities including: system audits, user testing, annual system data cleanups, and review of user accounts.Assists with the design, development, and deployment of customized eLearning.Liaison with the LMS provider to administer the installation, data migration, configuration, updates, upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, and end-user support; acts as the technical resource on all LMS matters.Collaborates with training staff or departmental stakeholders to ensure that LMS training is being appropriately delivered to end-users.Creates and compiles reports utilizing various report writing tools and technologies; assists with data analysis.Performs related duties as directed.Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
