RK&K is hiring a Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our Charlotte Office. RK&K has been present in North Carolina for over sixty years! As a Geotechnical Project Engineer at RK&K, you will have the opportunity to work across disciplines to prepare plans and reports related to a variety of geotechnical projects for various clients in the transportation and municipal sectors; you will conduct and supervise field investigations and develop design computations; and prepare geotechnical recommendations, contract plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
Essential FunctionAssist in the development of the geotechnical portion of proposals and subsurface exploration programs.Perform geotechnical analysis using approved software.Preparation of bridge, roadway, and retaining wall inventory reports and foundation recommendations.Post-bid retaining wall plans.Foundations recommendations for other structures.Innovative design concepts related to Geotechnical Engineering.
Required Skills and ExperiencePassion for client service and engineering.7 to 10+ years of Geotechnical Design experience, NCDOT experience.Significant understanding of the following: gINT, LPile, APile, MSEW, FB-Pier, and GRLWEAP.Professional Engineer License is required.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Knowledge of Microstation.
Preferred Skills and ExperienceMS or advanced degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
