As a

Program Director I - MCW Flourishing in Health Professions Education Initiative , you will oversee the strategy, management, financials, and functioning of a complex grant-funded College-wide program integrating concepts of character, caring, practical wisdom, and flourishing (utilizing the Kern National Network – KNN – Framework for Flourishing) into health professions education at Medical College of Wisconsin’s three campuses. Provide direction and guidance to the Program Managers and Program Coordinators for the initiative, facilitate the achievement of the program’s goals, and monitor and report financial and narrative information to the initiative funder. Collaborate and coordinate with the KNN Program Office and serve as a member of its leadership team.

Responsibilities:

Direct the portfolio of programs articulated in the

MCW Flourishing in Health Professions Education Initiative

proposal.

Collaborate with leaders in the Kern National Network for Flourishing in Medicine Program Office on the implementation of initiative activities.

Serve as an advisor for how the KNN Framework for Flourishing can be implemented at MCW and translate the Framework within the initiative ethos as well as programming.

Lead from a relational approach with internal and external stakeholders.

Monitor quality assurance and compliance related to the goals objectives and outcomes for the initiative. Oversee recruitment of program participants, and engagement and application processes.

Initiate program development and advancement through literature searches, contact with outside programs, and review of new funding opportunities.

Maintain program policies and procedures. Participate on appropriate committees relevant to the advancement of the program and the profession or area of research.

Provide guidance on the development of program materials including educational materials, presentation materials, marketing materials, websites, forms, and reports.

Work in partnership with the KNN to oversee collaborations with MCW communications on an initiative communications plan.

Ensure compliance with regulatory and institutional policies.

Ensure program data and progress are reported to program stakeholders, especially initiative funders. Present aspects of the initiative to funders and other stakeholders as needed.

Direct the organization of internal and external meetings, site visits, and special events. Develop and manage program budget.

May perform management responsibilities such as scheduling people and material resources, maintaining program timelines, and/or managing program outreach activities including acting as a liaison with community organizations.

Recruit, hire, supervise and work to develop and retain initiative staff.

Knowledge of technical, business, consultation, project management, and cultural awareness. Customer focus, building trust, communication, critical thinking, and influencing skills.

Preferred Schedule:

Hybrid, 40% Virtual, 60% On-Site Milwaukee Campus; Preferred Hours: Mon-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications:

Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.

Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree

Minimum experience: 10 years

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred education: Master’s degree

Preferred experience: 10+ years in education, nonprofit management, healthcare administration, business.
