The Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) department is seeking a

Systems Engineer: Facilities

to join our team and develop these technologies into high-performance computing systems. You’ll work in a fast-paced team environment alongside physicists, design engineers, and superconducting foundry engineers to make these technologies a reality.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams in areas of design, manufacturing and R&D to develop and implement innovative solutions to evolving needs of new or existing manufacturing operations.

Support new and existing facility development and ensure that systems are designed for scalability, maintainability and efficiency.

Collect and analyze data from a variety of sources to design and improve system models.

Perform activities in modeling and simulation, trade studies and generation of system engineering documentation.

Provide regular reports to management on system performance and project status.

Apply systems engineering best practices, principles, and concepts to manufacturing facilities development activities.

Limited travel to local Northrop Grumman facilities may be required.

This position can be filled at Principal or Sr Principal level.

This position will serve on-site in Linthicum/ Annapolis Junction, MD.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Systems Engineer: Facility Development:

Bachelor's Degree or higher in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a similar technical discipline with 5 years of related experience, or 3 years with a master’s degree, or 0 years with a PhD.

Experience in one or more of the following system engineering knowledge areas: technical planning, requirements derivation, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, cost and risk analysis, interface definition, system design, system integration, verification and validation, supportability, and effectiveness analyses for total systems.

Strong skills in problem solving / troubleshooting.

This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with poly clearance per business requirements.

Bachelor's Degree or higher in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a similar technical discipline with 8 years of related experience, or 6 years with a master’s degree, or 3 years with a PhD.

Experience in one or more of the following system engineering knowledge areas: technical planning, requirements derivation, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, cost and risk analysis, interface definition, system design, system integration, verification and validation, supportability, and effectiveness analyses for total systems.

Strong skills in problem solving / troubleshooting.

This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with poly clearance per business requirements.

Preferred Qualifications for Principal / Sr. Principal Systems Engineer: Facility Development:

Design experience and or field knowledge for both industrial and government projects, including mission-critical facilities.

Has worked in semiconductor or microelectronics fabrication in operations or factory planning organizations.

U.S. citizen with Active DoD TS/SCI with poly security per clearance business requirements.

Salary Range:

$102,400 - $160,900Salary Range 2:

$127,000 - $199,600The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
