Drives the creation, development and delivery of new hardware and network communications products supporting the defense market space. Performs ongoing market research, reviews customer satisfaction, works with development teams and measures product success. Formulates and executes long-term plans for cost/profit control. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. This position typically works under limited supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.Essential Job Duties And ResponsibilitiesResponsible for planning and execution of product lines throughout their lifecycle including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining product vision and working closely with management, development teams, engineering, sales, marketing, and other support groups to ensure revenue, profit and customer expectations goals are met.Work closely with upper management to develop long term product development and sales strategies for the company.Understand, articulate, and capture customer market problems and then translate them into software and hardware requirements for product development teams.Provide sales and business development teams with marketing strategy and guidance for selling, promoting products, and meeting customer needs.Work closely with global team of support and sales personnel to meet customer and contractual requirements.Monitor and analyze market trends and competitors to make sure product lines stay competitive and fulfill customer needs.Understand all aspects of customer’s business needs and how they can apply to our company’s product lines.Contributor in coordinating quote and proposal activities through business development and contracts to meet customer needs.Generate business cases for product extensions and product enhancements to meet market demands and new sales potentials.Develops investment plans for each product so that products will be up to date and meet all market driven and customer requirements.Works with third parties to develop business strategies as well as teaming and license agreements.Works closely with business development, corporate communications and local marketing team to ensure advertising materials are current and available.Insures all customer requirements and expectations are met by providing superior customer support and service.Works to make sure all contractual requirements are satisfied including products, data and services.Serves as expert with respect to the customer and competitive environment.Responsible for developing consumer and channel communication strategies.Responsible for the development and management of Radio Over IP (ROIP), Land Mobile Radio (LMR) gateway products and Push to Talk (PTT) systems and architectures.Hybrid position with 1 day per week to work remotely.Minimum Job RequirementsFour-year college degree, or equivalent, in product line, business or program leadership fields; plus a minimum of eight years experience working as a product/consumer manager in a software or hardware environment. Must have experience in launching new products into the consumer market and evolving these into viable company revenue streams. Excellent teamwork skills. Demonstrated experience in creating product specifications, gathering customer requirements, performing competitive analysis and/or market research. Background working with ROIP, LMR and PTT businesses, service providers, acquisitions and business development arenas are preferred. Knowledge of ROIP, Internet Protocol (IP) and Radio Gateway systems preferred. Able to make decisions independently and coordinate large teams.
