Registered Nurse (RN) - Long Term Care
Location: Bethel, Alaska
Position Summary:
Responsible for delivering patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The role involves directing and coordinating nursing care based on practice standards, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide quality and efficient care. The RN will apply age-specific considerations and cultural diversity in patient care. This role supports the mission of the organization and is responsible for the care of all patients in the Long Term Care Facility.
Position Qualifications:
Completion of a nursing program from an NLN-approved institution.New graduates accepted; one year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.Must hold a valid RN license in good standing in the State of Alaska.Current CPR (BCLS) and BLS certifications required.Must pass and maintain competencies for this position.IV certification course required.Proficiency with medical equipment such as Dynamapp, thermometers, Datascope, and Pulse Oximetry.Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.Effective communication skills for interacting with physicians, medical staff, and the general public.Competent in basic math and analytical skills, including computing rates, ratios, and interpreting graphs.Must be adaptable in problem-solving with minimal standardization and handle various written, oral, and diagram instructions.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to collaborate with a culturally diverse patient population, including those who may not speak English.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to participate in committees and serve as a professional representative.
