Location of the selected candidate is flexible if location allows for cost-effective and efficient travel.This position will be part of our Health Care by Food (HCxF) Food Is Medicine research initiative. This multiyear initiative is conducting the research designed to provide evidence of effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of Food Is Medicine interventions (such as medically tailored meals and produce prescriptions) to prevent, manage, and treat cardiovascular disease.This is a full-time, grant-funded, benefits-eligible opportunity. Current funding is available through 6/30/2024.ResponsibilitiesIdentify, establish, and recommend data mapping and design to standardize and harmonize large clinical datasets (including real-world data) from multiple American Heart Association clinical trials, research studies, and registries as well as other large external datasets.Design, document, and help develop user interface, data integration, definitions, and data dictionaries.Collaborate with subject matter experts in clinical data and research, and external entities such as Amazon Web Services and EMR instances such as EPIC.Assist in developing SQL database, query requirements, data management protocols; establish customized data dashboard for large clinical datasets in AWS or other cloud-based server environments.May develop and document through presentations of the overall project design for publication or scientific meetings.Set up requirements on data format and labeling, meta-data generation such as code book, Case Report Forms, Surveys, EHR queries, and other data project documentation processes.Develop and implement guidelines to manage data storage.Design and follow data security best practices in data storage, transferring, sharing, and reporting that is HIPAA compliant.Plan for Data Disposition and help develop a plan for subsequent public access. Ability to implement data de-identification techniques and tools.Develop guidelines for presentation to individual research teams for Data Analytics workflow including data intake and handoff. Refine guidelines following discussion with individual project teams. Perform auditing services to ensure consistency and compliance.Provide or facilitate training on the use of claims and/or clinical trial data as needed through group webinars made available to all project teams.Create visual and tabular (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, or statistical software such as SAS, R, Python, or STATA) representations of data. Design customized templates featuring purpose-built statistical applications or tools to drive decision-making.Maintain general awareness of the importance of cardiovascular research advances through reading science literature, establishing and maintaining professional consultation contacts, attending meetings, monitoring legislation, and attending to inquiries from public and professionals.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree or higher - Information Technology – Database Design, Applied Math, Computational Science, Health Informatics, Economics, Statistics, or related technical field or equivalent work experience. Master’s degree is preferred.Minimum of three (3) years of experience with database design, development, data mapping, statistical reporting, Electronic Health Data wrangling, Claims data analysis, or related area.Minimum of two (2) years of experience with real-world clinical data including claims data processing, clinical data management, and regulatory requirements for use of data.In-depth knowledge of cloud-based architecture and health-focused data server management/configuration; AWS or other cloud-based health data server background preferred.Proficient in R, SAS, and/or Python, Jupyter Notebooks, SQL.Highly effective organizational skills, communication skills, time management, responsibility, and motivation.Must be able to travel overnight approx. 10% of the time.Preferred Skills/ExperiencesMaster/PhD in Computer or Data Science, Health Economics, Health Informatics, Public Health, or (Bio)Statistics preferred.Compensation

– Expected pay range will be $85,000- $93,000. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply.Benefits
