Job Summary:
MLee Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join a thriving hospital in Illinois. In this role, you will perform nuclear medicine procedures under the guidance of a radiologist, working independently on technical details. You will adhere to ALARA principles and regulatory requirements to ensure safe and effective patient care.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.Operate imaging equipment such as gamma cameras and PET scanners to capture images.Position patients properly and ensure their comfort during procedures.Follow protocols to produce high-quality images and maintain accurate patient records.Monitor patients during imaging procedures and respond to any adverse reactions.Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret imaging results.Maintain compliance with safety protocols and radiation protection standards.Conduct quality control tests on equipment and manage the inventory of radiopharmaceuticals.Educate patients and their families about procedures and address any concerns.Engage in continuing education to stay updated with advancements in nuclear medicine technology.
Qualifications:Completion of a formal Nuclear Medicine program with an associated certificate or degree.One year of Nuclear Medicine experience preferred.IEMA License in Nuclear Medicine.ARRT(NM) or NMTCB registry required.Basic Life Support certification.
