This intern will work with Program Managers, Business Analysts, and other IT staff to understand requirements, and develop and modify existing applications built on Ruby on Rails. This intern must be prepared to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and demonstrate a high degree of ownership and accountability.Responsibilities:
This developer's primary responsibility will be to lay the groundwork for our Rails-based infrastructure and assist in developing our web platform for managing auction creation, scheduling, invitations, and social sharing.The individual will work closely with senior engineers and product management to prioritize and implement new features, and also work hand in hand with other front- and backend developers as well as interface with Copart's patented auction server technology.This intern will work with Program Managers, Business Analysts, and other IT staff to understand requirements, and develop and modify existing applications built on Ruby.Minimum Requirements:
Ruby, JRuby and Java knowledgeFamiliarity with MVC frameworks such as Rails and SpringExcellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skillsThe motivation to go the extra mile, where necessaryHighly Desirable:
Experience using memcached and Lucene/SOLRLinux system admin experience, particularly in Cloud environments (i.e. Amazon Cloud Services)Prior startup experienceFamiliarity with social networking sites and best practices for integrating with themFor 40 years, Copart has led its industry in innovation and customer service, enabling it to grow profitably in markets across the globe.
