The Boeing Company is looking for a

Software Engineer (Senior/Lead)

to join the Flight Software team located in

Everett, WA.

This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) business organization.

Depending on skills, the individual will work in a number of areas including Avionics, Cabin and Network Systems, Common Core System, Electronic Subsystems, Environmental Controls, Flight Controls, or Propulsion. The individual will assist with documenting software requirements, architectures, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Position Responsibilities:

Leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.

Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system.

Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.

Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities.

Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics.

Plans, executes and documents software research and development projects.

Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations.

Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.

Works under minimal direction.

Security Clearance/Export Control Requirements:

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

5+ years' as a current Designated Engineering Representative (DER) or Technical Standard Order (TSO) Certification Specialist.

9+ years of experience in RTCA DO-178(B/C) Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification.

5+ years’ experience in software engineering.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

12+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience with concurrent software and distributed systems.

12+ years’ experience in software development life cycles, configuration management and best agile software engineering practices.

9+ years’ experience developing, documenting and maintaining architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.

9+ years’ experience leading software development projects.

Experience using common software version control tools such as Git.

Experience with Agile planning tool such as JIRA, TSF.

Travel:

10%.
