Senior Specialist, EHS Environmental

is to support Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) at the Summit facility within the Department of Environmental, Occupational Health, & Safety (EHS). As the Senior Specialist you will play an active role in supporting the company's environmental and sustainability (EHS) efforts within the Summit facility to drive long-term company and stakeholder value.The individual in this role will be responsible for managing the site environmental programs in accordance with company and regulatory requirements. This position plays a key role in aligning corporate and local policies and procedures and will foster a proactive and integrated EHS culture that promotes a positive, proactive approach throughout all operations.Shifts Available:

Monday - Friday, Standard Working HoursResponsibilities:Identify, manage and assess risks pertaining to air, water, waste and soil.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and sustainability laws, regulations, codes, rules, and consensus guides.Develop and implement new environmental programs, policies, and procedures and update and improve existing ones.Continually monitor federal, state and local regulations to ensure compliance.Prepare and maintain environmental reports, records, monitoring data and plans as required by regulation or company requirements.Point of contact for environmental regulatory agencies and lead agency inspections or audits.Manage a wide range of communications and preparation/distribution of EHS communications.Develop, create, and manage site platforms, databases, and SharePoint for documentation of procedures, forms, SOPs, investigations, reporting, inspections, action items, communications, and other management system platforms and their outcomes in line with quality and EHS requirements.Create and maintain a systemic process to ensure workflow timelines for EHS events and action plans are adhered to.Manage the environmental training process for the site, including development of new and revised training, accurately assigning training based on guidelines, and supporting training records requests.Perform and direct spill cleanup activities for Hazardous, Non-Hazardous or Biohazard materials.Experience working in laboratory and manufacturing environment, with knowledge of GMP practices and procedures.Proactively collaborate at site and above-site levels.Participate in EHS operational and tier discussions, EHS committees and teams; and EHS self-assessments, inspections, GEMBAs, and audits.Review and ensure accurate and complete resolution of issues as they arise and escalate concerns, resource constraints, or needs with urgency to appropriate leaders in the organization.Knowledge & Skills:Environmental experience including but not limited to, hazardous waste, biologic waste, wastewater, storm water, SPCC/DPCC, DOT hazardous material shipping, air emissions, GHG, permitting, remediation and sustainability.Knowledge and understanding of EPA environmental regulations related to pollution prevention; Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, Resource Conservation & Recovery Act, FIFRA, CERCLA, EPCRA, TSCA, SPCC, DPCC.24-40 Hr. HAZWOPER trained.Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point).Experience with learning systems database (e.g., Intelex, Success Factors, etc.) preferred.Previous experience developing program and plans related to federal and state environmental and transportation regulations.Ability to take initiative and adapt to frequently changing priorities simultaneously and think creatively, critically, and strategically to solve problems in a complex environment with urgency and agility.Experience handling confidential information and sensitive issues in a diplomatic manner to ensure integrity and confidentiality.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Basic Requirements:Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in an environmental discipline.Minimum of two (2) to four (4) plus years of environmental experience in a laboratory and manufacturing facility.If you come across a role that intrigues you but doesn't perfectly line up with your resume, we encourage you to apply anyway.
