Zoox is seeking an exceptional Software Engineering Manager to lead our Simulation Platform team. This pivotal role will drive the development of robust, scalable, and high-performance software systems using C++. Our simulation platform team designs and builds the core architecture of the Zoox simulator, integrates with Zoox driving software and infrastructure, and owns critical properties of the simulator such as determinism, performance/scalability, and correct simulation execution. This platform is the backbone of hundreds of workflows at Zoox, powering millions of scenarios daily and delivering precise, actionable metrics for the development and validation of our cutting-edge autonomous vehicle software stack.As the Simulation Platform Manager, you will spearhead technical ownership of a critical component of our simulation product, forge, and nurture strong partnerships with teams across the Zoox ecosystem, innovate and implement new features to rigorously test and validate our autonomy software in sophisticated closed-loop simulation environments.In this role, you will:

Lead and inspire a team of world-class software engineersDrive cross-functional collaboration with autonomy, QA, and validation teams to deliver mission-critical featuresArchitect and oversee the implementation of next-generation simulation capabilitiesCultivate a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvementQualifications

Proven track record in developing top talent and building high-performing engineering teamsDemonstrated ability to drive complex projects from conception to delivery, with experience in creating and executing strategic roadmapsBachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or related technical field3+ years of engineering management experience, preferably in a fast-paced, innovative environmentExpert-level programming skills in C++, with proficiency in PythonBonus Qualifications

Experience in simulation, robotics, or autonomous systems is highly desirableStrong aptitude for understanding and solving complex technical challenges for specialized end-users, and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholdersCompensationThere are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary will range from $210,000 to $300,000. A sign-on bonus may be part of a compensation package.
