Join our team and help make a difference.Overview:Selective Insurance is seeking a highly motivated Lead Software Engineer to join us in developing our web-based Commercial Lines Applications. An ideal candidate is proficient in current technologies (.NET 6 and Angular), design patterns, best practices and has prior experience modernizing applications of medium to large scale.As a hands-on Lead Software Engineer you will be both a technical expert and a leader. In addition to producing high quality code and solution design you will also have the opportunity to provide technical guidance to other developers and identifying inefficiencies and process improvements that will boost productivity for the entire team.Job ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with individuals from all areas of the business and IT organizations to design and develop solutions that drive business valueDesign solutions, partnering with technical leaders and architects as appropriateLead others in your team in designing, developing, and testing high quality deliverables.Contribute to developing and maintaining tech roadmaps for projectsDevelop and deliver key components and business deliverablesAct as a key contributor in planning and estimation of projectsConduct and coordinate design, code, and test plan reviewsAdminister documentation audits and reviews and assure it is complete, acceptable, and in accordance with standardsJob Qualifications:Required:7+ years of experience designing and developing complex applicationsExperience in C# .NET API development and SQLAutomated unit test development utilizing a mocking frameworkExperience working as part of a large team, including mentoring and guiding less experienced membersWorking knowledge of git and trunk-based developmentProficient in full stack development, design patterns and principlesPreferred:Experience in Angular developmentSAFe agile work experience or similar agile processCollege degree in Computer Science or Management Information SystemsProperty Casualty Insurance experienceSalary range: $116,000 - $167,000. The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective's footprint.
