Primary Responsibilities:Schedule; Per DiemExamines, assesses, diagnoses, and treats the inpatients that are the responsibility of OptumAdmits and rounds on Optum patients, patient keeper billingPrescribes medications, and treatment regimens appropriate for assessed medical conditionsConsults with and refers to specialists as appropriate. ER DiversionDirects and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as requiredFollows established Torrance Memorial and Optum Group policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standardsCommunicates directly and effectively with colleagues, primary care physicians, and transferring physicians to effect successful transfer of care with particular attention to weekends and holidaysWill follow care guidelines in the hospital in the form of standardized hospital order sets and/or hospitalist manualWill discharge patients when medically appropriate and utilize hospital case management and ancillary personnel to do this as efficiently as possible

California Residents Only:

The hourly range for this role is $138.77 to $185.22 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
