The primary responsibility is interfacing directly in a professional manner with business partners in the pharmaceutical, medical device and clinical research organization (CRO) industries to administer the accounts receivable for a large clinical trial portfolio under the management of the CFCCC Stern Center for Cancer Clinical Trials and Research.Uses professional financial services concepts. Applies organization policies and procedures to resolve a variety of moderately complicated issues.Experience with clinical trial agreements and clinical research billing principles.Knowledge of UC Irvine's financial systems including KFS, DSS, Data Warehouse, PI Report.Experience working in a Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS), preferably Oncore.Experience managing finances for oncology-specific trials.Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment and decision making.Skills to provide coaching and mentoring to support staff.Strong knowledge of financial data management and reporting systems.Ability to adapt to changing priorities.Working knowledge of financial processes, policies and procedures.Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.Ability to function effectively as a member of a team.Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database software.Demonstrated financial acumen and experience with complex business processes.Ability to establish and maintain detailed and accurate files and records.Demonstrated high-level communication skills to convey information in a clear, concise and persuasive way.Willingness to work as a supportive, cooperative member of an interdisciplinary team.Ability to multitask and meet deadlines, despite interruptions.Ability to independently exercise discretion and sound judgment.Ability to prioritize assignments and achieve high productivity and quality with short time frames, under rigid deadlines, and/or in environments with frequent workload changes and competing demands.Skill in working independently, taking initiative and following through on assignments.High level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.What It Takes to be SuccessfulRequired:Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.Special Conditions:Must pass a background check.Total CompensationIn addition to the salary range listed below, we offer a wealth of benefits to make working at UCI even more rewarding.Conditions of Employment:Background Check and Live ScanLegal Right to work in the United StatesVaccination PoliciesSmoking and Tobacco PolicyDrug Free EnvironmentThe following additional conditions may apply:California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting ActE-VerifyPre-Placement Health EvaluationClosing Statement:The University of California, Irvine is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
