Intermountain Health Patient Access Lead

Location: Denver, ColoradoResponsibilities:Lead the daily work of the registration/pre-access team.Obtain complete and accurate patient demographic, insurance (eligibility and/or verification), and financial information.Register/pre-register patients and confirm, enter, and/or update all required demographic data.Verify insurance to determine coordination of benefits and obtain authorization and/or referrals as required.Screen for and process non-covered services and waiver of liability (ABN).Communicate patient financial responsibility and collect patient payments prior to service.Document patient account notes for all interactions/transactions.Manage escalated account issues and assist with follow-ups on appeals and denials.Provide on-the-job training and feedback to associates.Promote mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abide by service behavior standards.Minimum Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent.Minimum of one (1) year of employment within a SCL Health Patient Access department or Revenue Service Center department.Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) preferred.Previous experience specific to revenue cycle operations preferred.Physical Requirements:Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.Ability to operate computers and office equipment.Ability to see and read computer monitors and documents.Remain sitting or standing for long periods.May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies.Scheduled Weekly Hours:
