AWS established a specialized group of service teams responsible for the work we are doing with the U.S. Intelligence Community. We are building some of the largest and most complex distributed systems in the world, and we need adaptable people to help us implement and operate them.
This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
A day in the lifeEvery day is Day 1 at Amazon. On a typical day, our Amazon Dedicated Cloud Engineers (ADCE) will support AWS Config engineering and operations by completing activities including but not limited to:Manage and monitor systems health and statusProvisioning devices, assisting with data ingestion, and device cleaningTroubleshooting device, network, and/or configuration related issuesIdentifying, documenting, and communicating engineering and operations recommendations to team membersWriting and disseminating after action reports capturing key events, actions taken, and future mitigation plansProviding on-call support when necessaryWe are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Annapolis Junction, MD, USAArlington, VA, USADenver, CO, USAHerndon, VA, USABASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate's degree, or Cloud+ or GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional) or GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials) or SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner)- 3+ years of systems administration experience (Linux/Windows)- 2+ years experience working with scripting languages- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or abovePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ years experience with cloud computing technologies- 1+ years of networking experience.- 1+ years of experience with support procedures and methodologies for production computing environments- Experience automating routine tasks- Experience troubleshooting- Experience with performance and log analysis
