HAVE AN ACTIVE TS/SCI W/ POLYGRAPH SECURITY CLEARANCE (U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED)The selected candidate will perform security scans to identify vulnerabilities and risks, and work with the Engineering team to mitigate the risks. The candidate is required to have experience with ensuring systems successfully complete the Assessments & Authorization (A&A) process. They will be responsible for:Validates and verifies system security requirements definitions and analysis and establishes system security designs;Designs, develops, implements and/or integrates IA and security systems and system components including those for networking, computing, and enclave environments to include those with multiple enclaves and with differing data protection/classification requirements;Builds IA into systems deployed to operational environments. Assists architects and systems developers in the identification and implementation of appropriate information security functionality to ensure uniform application of Agency security policy and enterprise solutions. Supports the building of security architectures;Enforce the design and implementation of trusted relations among external systems and architectures;Assess and mitigates system security threats/risks throughout the program life cycle;Contribute to the security planning, assessment, risk analysis, risk management, certification and awareness activities for system and networking operations;Review certification and accreditation (C&A) documentation, providing feedback on completeness and compliance of its content;Apply system security engineering expertise in one or more of the following: system security design process; engineering life cycle; information domain; cross domain solutions; commercial off-the-shelf and government off-the-shelf cryptography; identification; authentication; and authorization; system integration; risk management; intrusion detection; contingency planning; incident handling; configuration control; change management; auditing; certification and accreditation process; principles of IA (confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation, availability, and access control); and security testing;Analyzes user’s requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications. Analyzes system requirements and leads design and development activities. Guides users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies. Provides technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology. Incorporates new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations. Develops technical documentation. Develops system Architecture and system design documentation. Guides system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans. Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts. Ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility. Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.Seventeen (17) years experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required. Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.Additional qualifications include:Experience in developing system performance, availability, scalability, manageability, and security requirements for mid-to-large scale systems.Experience in developing technical documentation for issues and/or training.Experience in leading agile and/or spiral development models.Experience developing solutions integrating and extending COTS products.Experience integrating COTS and GOTS products from multiple vendors.Knowledge and experience with developing distributed storage routing and querying algorithms.Experience implementing storage area networks, data warehouses and data marts.Experience optimizing storage, retrieval, back-up, and retention strategies across globally distributed, high throughput, text and multimedia storage and retrieval systems.Experience developing and deploying storage within clustered or cloud environments.Experience interacting in a cross-Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment.Experience planning and integrating secure compliant solutions based on legal, policy, and compliance directives.Knowledge and experience with internals of HDFS, HADOOP, and/or HBase/Accumulo BIG TABLE.
