A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE DIRECTOR OF NURSING (DON)
As the Director of Nursing (DON), you will work hand-in-hand with the administrator to maintain the efficiency and cohesion of the long-term care facility and nursing department. You’re committed to the care and safety of our residents and strive to continuously exceed the bar set through the quality of care and customer service that you and your team provide. In the absence of the administrator, the DON is responsible for overseeing the entire facility, while maintaining the quality of care and customer service in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
The DON is responsible for overseeing the entire clinical team and ensuring excellent outcomes are met with minimal deficiencies. Additionally, you’ll be expected to continuously strive towards increasing the facility’s clinical capabilities as well as the level of acuities the facility can accept.
THE IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE DIRECTOR OF NURSING (DON)
Prior long-term care/clinical management experience for a minimum of 1 year
Valid RN license
Superb working knowledge of PointClickCare software
