ASC Director of Nursing

(DON) will have a proven track record of delivering excellent service to physicians and patients and building and leading high-performing teams. Must exemplify our organization’s values of Quality, Teamwork, Service and Community. The DON has technical expertise in orthopedic peri-operative nursing and clinical care. Provides leadership to the clinical and ancillary staff, focusing on clinical quality outcomes, operational efficiencies, and employee and physician satisfaction. Works collaboratively with physicians and staff to promote customer service and patient satisfaction. Responsible for personnel and HR management for all clinical staff and clinical contracted services for the center. In conjunction with the ASC Administrator, has leadership responsibility for compliance with Local, State and Federal regulations and Accreditation standards. Creates and maintains strong vendor relationships.Develops and nurtures clinical philosophy which complements the facility’s goals and objectives.Guides and directs functions related to effective delivery of clinical patient care and compliance with administrative and clinical policies and procedures.Coordinates patient-care activities with surgeons and anesthesia providers to provide continuity of care.Supervises all nursing and ancillary support personnel involved in Pre-Admission Care and Assessment, Peri-operative Care, Sterile Processing, PACU, and Procedure Room Care.Oversees and complies with all policy and standards of nursing care and practice and works closely with the Facility Administrator to review and revise facility policies and procedures.Responsible for quality improvement and peer review within the center.Prepares clinical data reports and ensures clinical reporting is complete for pay for performance measures.A career at OrthoCarolina will provide you with opportunities for career advancement, dedicated peer support, and continuing education. Over 300 OrthoCarolina providers see more than one million patient visits throughout western North Carolina each year.Education:Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.BSN requiredMaster’s Degree in nursing or equivalent program preferred.Experience:5 years peri-operative experience with a minimum of 3 years of relevant management experience.3-5 years of experience in an ASC with at least 1-2 years in a formal management capacityOrthopedic peri-operative experience required.Experience in ambulatory surgery center operations strongly preferred. CNOR preferred.
