The Hi-Line Company is seeking an outgoing and passionate Lead Cultivator. Responsibilities include day-to-day cultivation tasks that assure our exceptional plants are producing the highest quality flowers possible. This position reports to Management. You must possess the ability to listen well and communicate effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

Demonstrate and lead the cultivation team in an understanding of The Hi-Line Company's Vision and Values.

Have a strong general understanding of the cultivation of Cannabis plants including plant development and operational needs of a Cannabis Cultivation facility.

Have the experience, knowledge and ability to perform all Cultivator duties per the Cultivator job description on a daily basis, including but not limited to germinating plants from seed, cloning, irrigation installation, trimming, super cropping, trellising, harvesting, curing, disease and pest identification, pest management, and sanitation.

Responsible for building both strategic and tactical activities for cultivation. Ensure optimal performance of the cultivation facility. Recommend and implement techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, enhance product output, and maintain best in class practices.

Provide regular production reports on cultivation productivity and expenditures ensuring that standards of excellence are continuously met and improved upon.

Proactively collaborate with Sales and Production managers to get feedback on company needs and customer desires, using feedback to define planting schedules and strains planted.

The ability to communicate and pass on your understanding to employees in a manner that produces results and inspires accountability within each employee.

Provide and implement strategic direction and thoughtful leadership in management of cultivation of plants and continually expand employee abilities in industry knowledge.

Create and maintain crop production schedule by ensuring adequate plant inventory of all stages of growth, harvest and curing of crop, tear down and reset of individual grow rooms, and the disposal/remediation of all plant and grow media.

Maintain adequate in-house stock of inputs, supplies, and equipment on hand at all times to ensure crop success, meeting or coming in under budget regularly.

Adhere to company health and safety policies including eye protection, ear protection, uniforms, hand protection, and all other PPE.

Understand and follow all company analytical and administrative Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Manage and implement training sessions for facility SOPs for new employees as well as quarterly refresher courses ensuring all team members have a competent and thorough understanding of all facility SOPs.

Create an environment in which personnel are efficiency-focused and a quality-oriented standard mentality is the norm.

Maintain daily, weekly, monthly, and project-oriented schedules for employees to ensure they have a clear understanding of each day's expectations based upon facility SOPs while meeting job efficiency quotas.

Develop and manage daily, weekly, and project-driven maintenance programs for cleaning and sanitizing of cultivation rooms, curing room, storage rooms, and common areas.

Ability to thoroughly control, operate, and maintain all cultivation equipment in a knowledgeable and safe manner.

Oversee daily activities of cultivation team members under the guidance and supervision of Management, ensuring that the schedule covers someone on site 7 days a week, and that all scheduled duties are completed daily.

Lead team to achieve above-target regional results including quantity, quality, cost innovation, and speed to market.

Strong understanding of Montana CCD compliance regulations for a cultivation facility and ensure those regulations are met daily.

Meet all Montana Metrc reporting requirements on a daily basis. Maintain consistent communication with company Compliance Manager ensuring that all plants are properly tagged and reported.

Ensure all personnel are in compliance with State regulations in all operations, processes, inventory management, and protocol.

Report all equipment, technical, or workload problems immediately to Management.

Work during assigned hours and overtime, weekends, or holidays when necessary.

Submit and get approval from management for any days off including sick and personal days.

Remain in the department until all daily work is complete.

Report deficiencies to management.

Staffing and onboarding.

Escalate HR-related matters to management immediately for guidance.

Other duties as assigned needed/required to meet goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Willingness to lead employees by example.

High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).

2-3 years experience in a similar cultivation role or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be capable of leading a team and assisting them in job processes when/where required.

Knowledge of growing technologies, such as lights, irrigation, soil, nutrients, and more.

Knowledge of different cultivars and their unique growing demands.

Ability to execute and manage others in techniques consistently.

Good documentation, inventory, and organization skills.

Keep to a tight schedule.

Maintain excellent punctuality and attendance.

Flexibility with hours and days – must be open to working weekends, holidays, and overtime when necessary.

Excellent verbal interpersonal communication skills to interact with team members and management.

Basic weights and measurement skills, ability to operate a scale.

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Subject to background check per state cannabis regulations.

Available to work 40 hours per week; including weekends.

Reliable transportation.

Lift a minimum of 50 lbs / stand for extended periods of time.

Ability to obtain MT CCD Agent badge.
