Makes sound decisions consistent with departmental policies and procedures and scope of practice. Handles situations not covered by written or verbal instructions appropriately. Routinely reviews pending reports and investigates and manages all outstanding specimen/test issues and delays.

Qualifications

Background Requirements:Associates of Science Degree in Medical Lab Technology or equivalent

required.Valid California license as a Medical Laboratory Technician

requiredMinimum two years as a Medical Lab Technician

preferredEssential Job Duties:Accurately reads, interprets, records, and maintains records of patient testing.Learns new procedures/assignments in a timely manner.Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all technical procedures in the department and operation of all instrumentation.Makes sound decisions consistent with departmental policies and procedures and scope of practice. Handles situations not covered by written or verbal instructions appropriately.Routinely reviews pending reports and investigates and manages all outstanding specimen/test issues and delays.
