Clinical care of children with obesity will be delivered at Healthy Kids U, a multi-component multi-disciplinary pediatric obesity care program. The position is full-time at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.Candidates should have a passion for delivering patient/family-centered and contextualized care and who work collaboratively within highly functional interprofessional coordinated care teams. They should also share our values for high-quality patient care, the education of residents and medical students, and the promotion of scholarly activity.Position SummaryThe Department of General Pediatrics seeks a pediatric or medicine-pediatric trained physician who will provide clinical care to children with obesity at Healthy Kids U, a multi-component multi-disciplinary pediatric obesity care program. The position is full-time at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.Duties & ResponsibilitiesSupport and engage in an interprofessional collaborative care model.Deliver direct patient care in managing childhood obesity as well as related co-morbidities, dysregulated to disordered eating patterns, and mental health concerns.Maintain care coordination with other clinicians and disciplines.Serve as a consultant for other primary care clinicians and pediatric subspecialties regarding the treatment of pediatric obesity and related diagnoses.Supervision and teaching of pediatric, medicine-pediatric, and family medicine residents and medical students.Collaborate and participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical outcomes research.Function as a University faculty member, performing such duties as are appropriate to academic rank and position.Minimum QualificationsMD or DO graduate of an LCME/AACOM-accredited medical school.Licensed or Eligible for licensure in Illinois.Board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics.3 years pediatric or medicine-pediatrics residency.Preferred QualificationsAmerican Board of Obesity Medicine Certification.Childhood Obesity Medicine Fellowship.Pediatric Nutrition Fellowship.About University of Illinois College of Medicine, Peoria (UICOMP) Department of Pediatrics and OSF Healthcare Children's Hospital of Illinois:UICOMP is one of the three regional campuses of the University of Illinois College of Medicine, one of the largest public medical schools in the country.
