The OpportunityAn Endoscopy Technician shall assist with the operational and clinical aspects of the unit. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, setting up equipment for endoscopic procedures and cleaning up after procedures; cleaning endoscopes according to policy, understanding the multiple steps in manual pre-cleaning and the automatic endoscope reprocessor; care and maintenance of endoscopic equipment; maintaining stock in procedure rooms and decontamination area, and assisting with putting stock away when delivered. Assist with other clerical functions to support the endoscopy unit.

Skills/Abilities/Competencies:Possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with cross functional teams including staff at all levels of the organizationRequires ability to work collaboratively with the clinical team including GI physicians, anesthetists, nurses, and all support staffAbility to successfully negotiate and collaborate with others of different skill sets, backgrounds, and levels within and external to the organizationRequires minimal direction from leadership and possesses the ability to learn quicklyKnowledge of medical equipment and instruments; including set up for procedures, decontamination, high level disinfection, sterilization and reprocessing, according to policies and regulationsAbility to trouble shoot equipment, or contact appropriate equipment representative, if necessaryAbility to work efficiently while maintaining attention to detailKnowledge of organizational policies and procedures, and state and federal regulationsKnowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environmentSkill in developing and maintaining department quality assuranceSkill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the publicAbility to maintain quality control standardsAbility to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures within scope of practice

Hours: Monday - Friday 7:15 am to 3:45 pm

Qualifications:* Education - High school diploma or GED

* Experience - 1 to 2 years medical work experience preferred
