Direct development and implementation of infection control policies, procedures, and strategies.Direct the surveillance, remediation, and reporting of infections across the organization.Develop program goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, regulatory/legal, and ethical requirements and objectives of the organization.Plan, organize, and direct all activities related to staffing, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.Prepare budgets and ensure compliance with allocated funding. Coordinate and direct internal/external audits.Evaluate the infection control program by identifying strategies that address the risk of infection transmission and assessing the risk for occupational exposure to infectious diseases.Lead the analysis and interpretation of data on healthcare-associated infections, and recommend plans to optimize the outcomes.
