Job Summary:
Oversee all the operations and staff of The Learning Funhouse, Inc.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years old.
Be a graduate of a high school or hold an equivalent diploma attained through successful completion of the general education development (GED) test.
Have at least 1,040 hours of paid or unpaid staff supervision experience.
Have at least 9 quarter credits or 90 hours earned in any combination of accredited courses in staff supervision, human relations, and child development.
If director functions as a teacher or develops or revises the child care program plan, the director must meet the qualifications of a teacher.
Responsibilities:
Reports directly to the Board of Directors.
Responsible for all staffing positions.
Responsible for accounting involved in the operation of the center.
Update all grant applications.
Keep all policies and procedures current and update as necessary.
Approve all lesson plans and curriculum.
Offer staff development.
Responsible for the health and safety of all children and staff members.
Supervise menus and food budget.
Facilitate staff meetings and information.
Update all licensing information.
Repair and maintain facility.
Keep all staff and children records current.
Purchase necessary equipment and supplies for the daily operations of the center.
Any purchases over $500 need Board's approval.
Checks written for $2,000 or over need the second signature of the Board member.
Confer with staff whenever any inappropriate behavior occurs with any children.
Manage any parent concerns and maintain communication with parents.
Conduct reviews of staff after 90 days from start date and every year thereafter.
Rate staff after reviews and make recommendations to board members on monetary compensation.
Track and file children’s behavior and progress.
Deal with any staff discipline.
