Sr. Portfolio Manager
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Portfolio Manager to join our dynamic team. As the Senior Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's portfolio of technical projects. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery, alignment with business goals, and efficient resource allocation. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, exceptional project management expertise, and a deep understanding of technical project lifecycles.
Experience/Other Requirements:
7+ years of experience in senior project or portfolio management roles, specifically in a technical environment.
Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale and complex technical projects.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques, such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
Experience in portfolio management, including project prioritization, resource allocation, and strategic planning.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve project goals.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
A proactive and results-oriented mindset, with a strong commitment to delivering projects on time and within budget.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Have a high-level awareness of all commitments and support the Senior Director by being able to speak to the upcoming work, in-flight, and deliver with an emphasis on business value.
Manage content for regular updates to senior leadership on accomplishments, dependencies, issues, etc.
Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including those who don’t have a dedicated or assigned PM (e.g. new stakeholders or stakeholders with smaller requests), including the participants of the associated Steering Committees or Product Advisory Boards.
Manage the agenda and content for the Product Advisory Board – senior leader sponsors across the company with a vested interest in driving value to their business.
Ensure that the budget required for requests is secured and managed.
Monitor portfolio budget requests to ensure appropriate estimates are provided and final approved budgets (and corresponding intake) are made known to the Portfolio Management team.
Manage (and continuously improve) our Operating Model to ensure it effectively and efficiently receives requests, allows for early estimation and prioritization based on expected business value, and leverages the dual-track agile approach with a focus on both Discovery and Delivery done in an iterative fashion. Ensure appropriate content is documented in our Business Roadmap and in Jira.
