OverviewThe Gilbane team in Southeast FL is looking for an experienced and career-oriented Project Engineer to join our expanding team on projects in the healthcare, education, high rise, multi-family industries (among others)!This is a highly rewarding opportunity that provides extensive career growth opportunity. The Project Engineer in this role will assist the project team in obtaining, evaluating, coordinating and distributing information and authorizations necessary to construct the project on time, within budget and to the quality specified.This role will sit primarily on the job site, with occasional travel to the office for trainings, meetings, etc.Who are we?As a Top-10 ENR Contractor, Gilbane is a family-owned business with 45 offices that has been shaping communities since 1870. You will protect and promote the interests of both Gilbane and the client in all matters as well as demonstrating the personal characteristics of a developing leader.ResponsibilitiesAs a Project Engineer III, you will:Effectively manage the change management process under the direction of the Project ManagerServe as a key player in monthly cost report meetings and contribute with meaningful data/talking pointsSuccessfully adhere to the project controls procedures to include monthly cost control, pay requests and cost reportingEffective expediting of material deliveriesAccurately estimate and prepare shop drawingsContinually encourage others to seek opportunities for different and innovative approaches to problems and opportunitiesDevelop business through identifying client needs, identifying Gilbane opportunity matches, and communicating the value and differentiation of Gilbane to prospective clientsProactively review customer feedback, build a customer-centric mentality within teams, and demonstrate knowledge of different market sectors and delivery systems to ensure positive customer relationsQualificationsEXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONBS or MS degree in Engineering or Construction Management5+ years with a construction manager, general contractor organization working on $5-$50 mm construction projectsOr equivalent combination of education and experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESProven capability to establish specific measurable, attainable performance goals and hold others accountable for achieving themDemonstrated ability to build active team participation, team trust and strengthen positive interactionsAbility to articulate financial knowledge and customer satisfaction awareness of how the company makes a profitDemonstrated ability to adapt personal communication style to suit the target audience and situation including highly effective presentations, clear and concise writing on complex and sensitive topics, and understanding through paraphrasing and use of relevant examplesStrong verbal and written skillsAbility to work in a team environmentProficient in Microsoft Office programsFinancial Management familiarityOSHA 10-hour certification, OSHA 30-hour certification preferredMEP KnowledgeUnderstanding of Contract Documents & SpecificationsProficient in ProcoreExpertise in CMiC preferredGilbane offers an excellent total compensation package which includes competitive health and welfare benefits and a generous profit-sharing/401k plan.
