MRI Technologist, $10K Sign On BonusVarious shifts available within Inpatient and OutpatientExperience and EducationAmerican Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT (MR) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) by first day of employment is required. Two years of MRI experience is preferred.Job DutiesReview physician orders for accuracy, diagnosis, sedation, and applicability to the MRI protocol. Screen patients for MRI appropriateness and review any contraindications for exams including implants, metallic devices, or other foreign objects, which would prohibit or modify the MRI exam. Discuss findings with the physicist and radiologist as applicable. If modification of an MRI protocol is necessary consult with the radiologist to determine appropriate sequences, parameters, etc. Document changes as appropriate in electronic health record. Ensure other resources such as nursing have been scheduled accordingly.Interview patients (two patient identifiers), conduct patient screening and obtain medical history pertaining to procedure's clinical criteria. Explain the procedure and instruct patients on necessary requirements needed to provide diagnostic images. Answer questions/screening concerning procedures and IV contrast for relevant exams. Assist the physician as needed in performing procedures. Ensure that images and records are properly completed with patient identification data and appropriate labeling.Utilize technical knowledge and skills to perform procedures accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with age-specific criteria. Complete exam charges and image documentation in a timely manner. Administer intravenous injections of contrast material as appropriate, observe patients for adverse reactions.Perform MRI ensuring that patient meets safety requirements to MRI contraindications. Assist patients in dressing for exams and attend to patient's physical well-being while transporting to and from exam room and positioning for exam. Instruct/communicate with patient and/or patient's family (as appropriate) regarding the tests to be performed and evaluate the patient's ability to tolerate.Perform QC testing and report problems with MRI systems and workstations to the service engineer/biomed, with additional correspondence sent to the physicist and imaging leadership.Maintain various data sets (ex. Baseline scans, 12 month scans, 24 month scans) and archives. Perform data calculations, scoring, and statistical analyses while following established QC standards for digital images. Participate in accreditation imaging requirements.Perform post-processing on MRI systems and remote workstations. May include, but not limited to, MIPing, MPR, 3-D rendering, qualitative and color mapping for breast imaging, ADC mapping and color mapping of diffusion scans, cardiac analysis to assess cardiac function including ejection fractions and wall thickness, spectroscopy analysis, and calculation of T1 and T2 values. Must be able to lift 40-50lbs.Respond to inquiries/calls/emails in a timely and professional manner. Communicate shift hand off regarding workflow issues with equipment or pending exams with oncoming staff. Engage in equitable distribution of departmental workloads.Actively participate in providing orientation and training for new hires and students ensuring that procedures are performed according to set standards.Function in the department as a part of an interdisciplinary team, and collaborate in the care and service delivery process of patient care through effective communication with other service lines. Prioritize exams with scheduling exams to ensure smooth workflow, minimize wait times and address stat and urgent requests.Adhere to hospital policies, regulatory compliance, new yearly metrics/department goals, patient satisfaction, and be fiscally responsible with regards to equipment, supplies scheduling, overtime, etc.Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure that all processes and procedures are maintained to secure and protect all workstations in all work areas.Duties performed may include one or more of the following core functions: a) Directly interacting with or caring for human-subjects research participants; b) Regularly maintaining, modifying, releasing or similarly affecting human-subjects research records.Other Duties:
