Corrections Clinical Psychologist

that is looking for a partnership in a growing organization with a strong team-mentality working in a juvenile facility. The Corrections Clinical Psychologist will be responsible for the delivery of psychotherapy, diagnostic, and therapeutic services in a contract correctional facility. The Psychologist will also act as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team and a liaison with other medical disciplines. The Psychologist will ensure that psychotherapy treatment services are delivered to inmate patients in a timely and effective manner, achieving desired patient outcomes while maintaining the established guidelines.Compensation: $140,000 - $155,000 salary per yearLocation: Primarily based out of the NJ Training School for Boys in Monroe Twp, NJ, with some time spent at the Juvenile facility in Bordentown, NJPosition Summary:The Corrections Psychologist will be responsible for the delivery of psychotherapy, diagnostic, and therapeutic services in a contract correctional facility. patient care at a correctional facilityConduct psychological assessments of inmates to determine mental health status, risk factors, and treatment needs. This may involve administering tests, conducting interviews, and reviewing medical records.Develop and implement behavior management plans for inmates with disruptive or challenging behaviors. Provide support and guidance to correctional staff on managing difficult situations effectively.Gather and maintain patient information and records, including social and medical history obtained from the patients and other professionals.Design and implement treatment programs by evaluating an inmate's willingness to change.Set treatment objectives; tailoring approach to patient's needs while consulting with other professionals.Provide brief psychotherapy, crisis intervention and/or personal counseling utilizing individual or conjoint treatment modalities.Log all client encounter/activity in EHR.Develop individualized treatment plans for inmates based on assessment findings and in accordance with correctional facility policies and procedures. Collaborate with other members of the correctional team, such as psychiatrists, and correctional officers, to coordinate care.Plan and arrange personal work; consult on difficult or unusual situations and problems with immediate supervisor.Conduct psychological evaluations as appropriate.Maintain confidentiality of clinical and sensitive administrative information.Position Responsibilities:Performs and documents routine psychiatric intakes, assessments and evaluations on inmate patients referred by the nursing/professional staff of the assigned correctional facility consistent with the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) standards of care, American Psychological Association (APA), NJ 10-A, American Correctional Association (ACA) and Performance Based National Detention Standards (PBNDS) as appropriate.Ability to diagnose and treat mental illness, perform psychological assessments, tests and evaluations, and practice crisis intervention.Supports and provides direction for the psychiatric and behavioral health care delivery system and coordinates with the other functions within the institution.Meets regularly with the site mental health and medical staff for mental health issues as requested.Conducts individual and group psychotherapy.Contributes to behavioral health program development, policies, and evaluation.Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms.Promotes a therapeutic environment to ensure inmate patients are treated in a professional, ethical and tactful manner.Confer with patient’s relatives regarding illness and treatments.Collaborates with Advanced Practice Nurses.Designate the level of care to be performed and the necessary equipment needed.Requirements:An appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Ph.D. or Psy.D.

in clinical or counseling psychology from an accredited university (required).Current, unrestricted Clinical or Counseling Psychologist license in the State of New Jersey
