Electric Transmission Capital Project Managers

to lead the development and execution of complex electric transmission infrastructure projects for electric utility clients in the

Greater Baltimore

area. This role is responsible for guiding capital projects through the utility’s EPC execution process. Potential projects will include greenfield transmission lines and substations, as well as transmission line rebuilds, substation expansions, and other system upgrades. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project management, a deep understanding of electric transmission systems, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams. This is a full-time (40 hours/week), limited-term role for a duration of

2 years , renewable. Out-of-area candidates will be considered, and relocation assistance will be provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation in accordance with business plan objectives.

Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.

Direct and manage project execution from intake through handoff to project delivery.

Coordinate and lead project team meetings to track progress, identify issues, and develop solutions.

Monitor project progress and adjust as needed to ensure successful completion.

Develop, negotiate, and manage contracts with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.

Ensure all contract terms are adhered to, including performance standards, timelines, and deliverables.

Manage contract modifications, extensions, and closeouts, ensuring all contractual obligations are met.

Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications.

Prepare and present project reports, proposals, and status updates to senior management and stakeholders.

Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, contractors, and suppliers.

Serve as project strategic advisor, identifying potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements.

Conduct regular risk assessments and implement corrective actions as necessary.

Manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.

Approve project expenditures and ensure financial controls are in place.

Track and report on financial performance, including budget variances and forecasts.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or a related field. Master’s Degree or PMP Certification is a plus.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in capital project management within the electric transmission industry, preferably working with/for investor-owned utilities.

Strong knowledge of electric transmission systems, including design, construction, and maintenance of transmission lines and substation infrastructure.

Familiarity with navigating the local, state, and federal project permitting processes in the Mid-Atlantic region. Maryland experience preferred.

Proficiency in project management software and tools – Microsoft Projects or P6, preferred.

Proven ability to manage large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Pay Transparency:

For the

Electric Transmission Capital Project Manager

position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $108,160– $146,016, $52.00/hr - $70.20/hr, limited-term, non-exempt.

benefits eligible * employees.

*Benefits Eligibility is limited to Regular employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week. Fixed-Term employees (including Flexforce) who are regularly scheduled to work 20 hours a week or more are eligible for a
