Starlite Recovery Center is seeking a Director of Nursing to join our nursing team!
Starlite Recovery Center has been treating individuals with Substance Use Disorder for over 66 years. Starlite Recovery Center is located in the Hill Country, approximately 20 minutes southeast of Kerrville, and approximately 30 minutes northwest of Boerne, Texas.

Starlite Recovery Center is a 130-bed premier addiction recover center located on 55 acres of beautiful Texas hill country in Center Point, TX. Starlite offers an unmatched natural environment in which to recover from the devastating effects of drug addiction and alcoholism. Innovative chemical dependency treatment has been the hallmark of Starlite Recovery Center for over 65 years. The Center focuses on the treatment of adult men and women aged 18 and older who have been struggling with substance abuse and chemical dependency. The facility offers numerous programs to address the diverse patient population and the specific needs of the individual.

to join our esteemed team at Starlite Recovery Center Recovery Center. This full-time, salaried position is an integral part of our dynamic leadership team. The
DON
will be responsible for overseeing, planning, coordinating, monitoring, and supervising nursing services and the provision of behavioral health/nursing care. We value an individual who embodies a positive, empathetic, and professional approach towards both our customers and nursing staff.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Sets the vision for nursing practice in the delivery of safe, timely, efficient, equitable and patient centered care.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams, other departments and administration to ensure that all residents’ physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental and cultural needs are met and when they are not met, acknowledges and works to resolve customer complaints.
Direct, supervise and evaluate work activities of all nursing personnel.
Provide clinical leadership, strategic and long-term goals for the nursing staff.
Anticipates and effectively manage changes in census and acuity and allocates nursing resources based on measurement of patient acuity/care needed.
Role model expectations related to customer service and demonstrated sense of urgency related to the importance of patient safety
Determine, assign, and assess performance objectives for nursing department.
Organize, coordinate, develop and review policies, procedures and nursing protocols within the facility to meet all regulatory, compliance and quality care standards.
Responsible for the quality of care, operational and financial efficiency of the nursing department.
Lead and develop the nursing staff within the facility, providing performance goals, feedback and development opportunities.
Set and carry out policies, goals and procedures for their function or department.
Evaluate the quality of care, staff's work and the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the function or department.
Develop and oversee function or departmental budget and reporting.
Provide staff management to include hiring, development, training, performance management and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation.
Provide direct care as needed. Direct and conduct recruitment, hiring and training of personnel.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing required. Master’s degree in psychiatric or mental health nursing preferred.
Five or more years’ nursing experience.
Three or more years progressive managerial experience required.
Three or more years behavioral health experience required.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
Current TX RN license.
CPR, First Aid and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
