Index Product Delivery Lead

Nasdaq Global Index are looking for outstanding individuals to fill 5 Product Delivery Lead roles, across Platform Capability Scrum Teams, who will be key delivery agents of the NEW Nasdaq Index Platform.

About each Role:
Reporting to a Platform Manager on the Index Platform Design & Management team, we're looking for an outstanding individual who has the relevant domain specific knowledge (see below) and who can collaborate across product, technology, and business functions. The Product Delivery Lead will contribute to the Nasdaq Index transformation program by defining, elaborating and prioritizing platform capability functionality by balancing stakeholder desirability and technical feasibility throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the Index industry, clients, and solutions we offer.
  • Operate independently as the dedicated Product Delivery Lead for one or more development teams comprised of 4-6 developers and a shared UX resource, delivering capabilities that support the index platform.
  • Understand the business processes, conduct story mapping, document detailed business requirements, develop functional designs, complete gap analysis, etc. that bring the client and project team to a common understanding of the product and how it will satisfy the business need.
  • Work closely with the Product Manager to translate roadmaps into user stories that are part of a well-refined backlog.
  • Build and maintain the product backlog of new business features as well as maintenance and support items.
  • Elaborate user stories for implementation, working with the platform capability scrum team and Platform Manager to ensure alignment toward the business vision and strategy.
  • Evaluate team deliverables and determine fit to requirements
  • Facilitate User Acceptance Testing.
  • Provide production support issue triage and facilitate timely resolution, adhering to acceptable quality thresholds.
  • Promote a collaborative working relationship with the team and stakeholders.
  • Conduct all business in accordance with Nasdaq policies and procedures.


Technical Responsibilities:
  • Provide requirements within capabilities that are implemented in AWS and exposed as API services.
  • Demonstrate a strong technical understanding of platform capabilities, and how they are the building blocks of a platform service.
  • Understand data and data modeling as part of defining and managing platform capabilities as a product.
  • Demonstrate an appreciation and understanding of modern development process and tools supporting DevSecOPs and CI/CD.
  • Collaborate with development teams in an agile model to ensure effective delivery of solutions.
  • Familiarity with defining end user tools and workflows in support of platform users.


Preferred domain specific expertise for each Platform Capability Scrum Team:
  • Index Data: Knowledge of global financial data, and the how that is used in the creation of benchmark and systematic Indexes. Strong understanding of data management concepts, data pipelines, and data architecture principles, with experience using Databricks or similar platforms.
  • Data Manager: Knowledge of data and data delivery via API.
  • Composer: Knowledge of index construction, index formulas, index data
  • Calculator: Knowledge of index calculation, mathematics, AWS lambdas
  • Internal Workflow (Appian): Knowledge of UX/UI design for an API centric platform
  • Dissemination / CAPI: Knowledge of data (ETL pipelines, data delivery mechanisms - real-time, point-in-time, push vs. pull), Technology (APIs, SFTP), and Product Design (UI/UX development experience, user journey mapping, defining user personas)
  • Platform Architecture: Knowledge of modern development pipelines and cloud infrastructure, and testing, especially around DevSecOps, CICD, use of Gitlab, terraform and architecting for cloud, expressing and documenting requirements for a development platform engineering team


Additional Skills:

  • Education: Degree in Business/Finance or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • 6-8 years of experience and successful track record as a Product Owner (Product Delivery Lead) in an Agile environment or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in software development, business analysis, and system lifecycle development is required.
  • Experience in Index, finance or the institutional investment industry is a plus
  • Strong technical and business acumen to extract implicit, unstated, and unrecognized requirements.
  • Keen understanding of backlog management practices and experience using various backlog management tools.
  • Effective meeting management skills to initiate, develop agenda, conduct, and communicate decisions so that all appropriate parties are kept up to date.
  • Strong attention to detail including precise and effective communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Understanding of web application development, SaaS concepts, and associative architectures to be conversant with the development team.
  • Ability to "think out of the box" and develop creative solutions.

The base pay range for this role is $106,000 - $176,700. In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides a generous annual bonus/commission (short-term incentive), and equity (long-term incentive), comprehensive benefits, and opportunity for growth. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, business needs and market demands.
