GEICO is seeking an experienced and strategic Director to lead the strategy and implementation our Technology Onboarding-Offboarding and centralized provisioning team. This role is essential in ensuring a seamless technology experience for new hires and departing associates within our large enterprise of 35,000 employees. The successful candidate will be responsible for transforming legacy manual processes to digital first automation and managing a team of engineers and technicians, collaborating closely with Talent Acquisition, and overseeing the technology aspects of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding to offboarding, managing the provisioning, deployment, and lifecycle management of all corporate Tech assets, including PCs, Macs, and mobile devices, with a strong emphasis on self-service options and automation. This leadership role requires a deep understanding of enterprise provisioning, automation technologies, and mobile device management.

Overview: GEICO is on a multi-year journey to re-platform the Insurance industry, removing friction across Customers, Partners, Marketplace, Segments, Channels, and Experiences. The enterprise engineering team is at the heart of accomplishing this mission, building enterprise capabilities - from Mobility systems, Productivity Platforms, Collaboration tools, Billing & Payments Platforms to ERP systems for Enterprise Financials and Human Capital Management that enable the company to accelerate efficiency of internal operations.

Role Responsibilities:

Strategy creation, Team Leadership and Management:
  • Create a multiyear roadmap to transform talent, processes, and technology stack to enable seamless easy associate onboarding and offboarding experience with centralize provisioning for mobile devices, PCs, and Macs across GEICO, streamlining processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance self-service capabilities for end-users by leveraging automation tools and technologies to improve provisioning times and reduce dependency on Tech support teams.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor teams of engineers and technicians responsible for the technology onboarding and offboarding processes fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with other departments, including Tech operations, security, and HR, to ensure smooth execution of provisioning processes.
  • Oversee the implementation and management of MDM platforms and solutions to ensure secure and efficient deployment of mobile devices across the organization, in compliance with corporate security policies.
  • Manage relationships with hardware and software vendors, ensuring that provisioning solutions are up-to-date and that service level agreements (SLAs) are met. Work with internal stakeholders to define requirements and deliver tailored provisioning solutions.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and professional development of team members, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement standards, best practices, and procedures to enhance the efficiency and quality of the onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to device provisioning and deployment efficiency. Provide regular reports to senior leadership, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
  • Oversee the budgeting for IT assets, ensuring that provisioning and deployment operations remain cost-effective while meeting the needs of the business.
  • Onboarding Process Management:
    • Ensure new hires receive a positive and seamless technology experience from day one, including the timely provision of necessary hardware, software, and access to systems.
    • Collaborate closely with Talent Acquisition and HR teams to understand onboarding schedules and requirements.
    • Develop and maintain onboarding kits and guides that provide clear instructions and support for new employees.
  • Offboarding Process Management:
    • Oversee the technology offboarding process for departing associates, ensuring the secure and efficient retrieval of company assets and data.
    • Manage the deactivation of accounts and access to company systems, ensuring compliance with security and data protection policies.
    • Coordinate with HR and other relevant departments to ensure a smooth and secure transition.
    • Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement:
    • Analyze and refine onboarding and offboarding processes to improve efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and enhance the overall experience for employees.
    • Implement automation and self-service options where possible to streamline operations.
    • Monitor key performance indicators and use data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication:
    • Act as the primary liaison between the tech department and other stakeholders, including HR, Talent Acquisition, and department managers.
    • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on the status of onboarding and offboarding activities, including key metrics and trends.
    • Engage with new hires and departing associates to gather feedback and continuously improve processes.
    • Compliance and Security:
    • Ensure all onboarding and offboarding activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
    • Maintain high standards of data security and confidentiality throughout the onboarding and offboarding processes.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 10+ years of experience in Tech service management or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • At least 3 year experience managing large-scale technology onboarding and offboarding and device provisioning processes in a corporate environment.
  • Proven experience in centralized IT provisioning for large organizations (30,000+ employees), with a focus on automation and self-service tools.
  • Strong knowledge of mobile device management (MDM) platforms, including experience with both iOS and Android devices.
  • Hands-on experience with provisioning systems for Macs and PCs, with a strong understanding of enterprise software deployment.
  • Familiarity with modern automation tools and techniques (e.g., scripting, API integration, etc.) to enhance provisioning workflows.
  • **Skills:**
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills with a track record of building high-performing teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Expertise in automation platforms, including experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) and self-service portal development.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices for IT asset management, including security, compliance, and data protection policies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • ### **Preferred Certifications:**
  • ITIL, PMP, or other relevant certifications in IT service management or project management.
  • MDM platform certifications (e.g., Intune, Jamf, MobileIron).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of tech infrastructure, systems, and tools used in a large enterprise setting.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks is a plus.
  • High level of discretion and integrity, particularly in handling sensitive information.
