The **EHS Manager** is a unique opportunity to join the core leadership team for our new greenfield start-up manufacturing facility in Columbia, TN. The expanded operational footprint will help Fiberon meet the growing demand for its composite decking products. Our Fiberon composite decking is nearly maintenance-free, costs less over time than wood decking, lasts longer than wood decking, and is made from recycled materials, helping to prevent plastic and wood waste from ending up in landfills.

**Job Description**

**ABOUT THE JOB**

The EH&S Manager will work with the site Operations team and Sr. Director, EHS and to continuously improve the site EHSS programs. Ensure compliance, and implementation of best management practices regarding combustible dust control. Ensure effective change management, oversee combustible dust safety engineering controls, including detection/suppression systems. The position will also have general EHS project management duties as assigned. There is an estimated 70% safety and physical security/30% environmental focus for this role.

**YOUR ROLE:**

Implement standardized EHS policies and practices at the site

Ensure that goals and objectives are developed and tracked throughout the year

Provide technical EHSS support and guidance to facility management

Manage combustible dust management/safety strategy and tactical execution

Oversee operating company change management program to ensure that incoming equipment is safe from machine guarding, LOTO, combustible dust and other relevant hazards

Lead EHS oversight for new facility start-up

Develop relevant EHSS training and ensure facility training is conducted via train-the-trainer sessions

Prepare and submit all required federal, state and local environmental permits and reports

Ensure that discharges and releases into the air, water and landfills meet all regulations, codes and permit requirements

Work with individual facilities & 3rd party resources to modify/maintain site air permits as needed to support local needs at multiple facilities in the United States

Serve as primary contact and liaison for regulatory agencies

Oversee EHSS related projects and maintain records for inspections and audits

Maintain electronic environmental sustainability data in FBHS environmental health and safety database

Participate in and/or lead compliance audits of site

Prepare emissions estimates and projections

Monitor facility waste streams and their associated cost implement corrective action as needed

Demonstrate flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload

Maintains knowledge of industry trends, safety legislation and ensures compliance

Monitor performance metrics for the location/ implement corrective action as required

**Qualifications**

**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:**

Minimum of 5 years EHS management experience in general/heavy industrial environment (combustible dust experience highly desirable)

Ability to prioritize continuous improvement focus for site EHSS (environmental, health, safety, security) programs based on organizational maturity models

Minimum 5 years of experience researching, designing, and writing EHS policies and programs

Experience managing site-level EHSS direct reports via stretch goal setting and tactical oversight

RCRA,TRI, stormwater permit compliance, wastewater permit compliance experience; experience managing a Title V air permit in a manufacturing facility

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Onsite role, candidate must reside/relocate to Nashville, TN area

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**

BS/Masters Degree in occupational health & safety, engineering, environmental sciences, or a related field with significant EHSS experience.

ASP/CSP, CHMM, PE in environmental engineering or related field, Registered Environmental Manager/Registered Environmental Professional certification are also desirable
