VP, GFO Global Financial Systems Architecture

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join Global Finance Operations in a leadership role within our Global Finance Business Architecture team. This position will support end-to-end business architecture activities across various Finance functions, with a primary focus initially on the Coupa source to pay Finance architecture. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across Finance as well as partner closely with Procurement, IT, and Global Architecture functions.

As the Vice President, you will have a strategic influence in developing and maintaining our financial systems architecture framework and roadmap, ensuring alignment with our business strategies and objectives. Your expertise in financial systems architecture and source to pay processes will be instrumental in driving business success and optimizing our global financial operations.

In addition to strong leadership skills, the successful candidate will bring extensive experience in incorporating data from software systems such as Clarity, Apptio, and other relevant platforms. This expertise will enable effective analysis of financial data, informed recommendations, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance business operations.

The role will report into VP COG Head of Financial Systems, occasional travel will be required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with business leaders, finance, and IT teams to develop and maintain the financial systems architecture framework and roadmap.
  • Provide expertise in financial systems architecture, ensuring alignment with business strategies and objectives.
  • Lead and oversee projects related to financial systems architecture, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring successful project delivery within defined timelines and budget.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and optimization within IT financial processes and accounting, specifically focusing on source to pay processes, propose solutions, and drive their implementation.
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and develop business cases for system enhancements, upgrades, and new implementations
  • Ensure effective integration of financial systems with other enterprise applications, such as ERP and 3rd Party relationship management systems.
  • Lead and manage the transformation of processes owned by the function, identifying optimum solutions and transfer of the process to other functions when appropriate.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to financial systems architecture and source to pay processes.


Qualifications

Technical Skills and Experience:
  • Significant experience in financial systems architecture, business architecture, IT financial processes, or related roles.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in source to pay processes, with a focus on finance and accounting.
  • Ability to understand end to end process to be able to identify, and implement, the system enablers to meet business requirements.
  • Experience of working with insurance accounting standards and processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify process gaps and propose solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across regions, including finance, IT, and business stakeholders, to drive business objectives.
  • Experience of leading projects / initiatives.
  • Ability to lead and participate with strategic thinking and objectives for Finance and to some extent the wider business community.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify process gaps and propose solutions.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining financial systems architecture frameworks and roadmaps.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with commonly used financial systems and technologies (e.g., ERP systems, financial planning and analysis tools, etc.).

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting is highly desirable, but not essential. Project Management certification is desirable but not essential.
