In this role, you will play a key part in helping Discord fulfill its mission of creating a sense of belonging in online communities. You’ll work closely with the teams that design, build, and support Discord, providing insights that directly influence user growth and enhance the user experience. If you’re passionate about data, impact, and working on an amazing team, read on!What you'll be doingPartner with teams throughout Discord through the full lifecycle of data science from ideation and exploratory analysis, to building dashboards and reports, and A/B testingDefine KPIs and diagnostic metrics that help improve the user experience, encapsulating these measures in clean crisp dashboards that provide the company with timely and actionable informationUse our amazing infrastructure to quickly and easily build custom data sets to monitor novel product features and processesProactively socialize insights, dashboards, and reports with technical and non-technical audiences, soliciting feedback on where to improveBe a champion of A/B testing and help groups throughout the company design, analyze, and interpret A/B tests correctlyCollaborate with data and engineering teams to design scalable and future-proof instrumentationWhat you should have7+ years of experience autonomously translating ambiguous business problems into deep informative insights through hands-on analysis7+ years of experience building performant dashboards using Tableau, Looker, or similar software - with proficiency in designing clean crisp visualizations6+ years experience writing robust, efficient and performant SQL4+ years of experience in the design, analysis, and interpretation of sound A/B tests in a fast-paced environment at scaleExperience with technical leadership, being the point person for one or more stakeholder groupsExcellent communication skills, with the ability to deliver complicated findings and explain technical approaches to a variety of audiencesAbility to own complex projects from end-to-end, identifying the need for and coordinating cross-functional partnershipsAptitude to proactively identify gaps in data infrastructure, evaluate potential solutions, and coordinate cross-functionally to address issuesLast but not least - a collaborative attitude and a healthy dose of natural curiosity!Bonus pointsPassion for Discord and/or online communitiesExperience with analytics for social media or international subscription-based online services, including familiarity with concepts such as social graphs, LTV analysis, funnel analysis, etc.Experience with notification system/platform and lifecycle management. Experience writing performant code in BigQuery SQL#LI-RemoteThe US base salary range for this full-time position is $223,000 to $245,500 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
