Job Description:
  • Our client is looking for an experienced Chemical Analysis Engineering Specialist. In this role, you will work with engineers to conduct experiments, perform quality testing, and make chemical adjustments related to wafer manufacturing processes. Additionally, you may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing processes.
  • This Chemical Analysis Engineering Specialist opportunity will be located at the facility in Bloomington, MN and report to the Wafer Plating / CMP / Wet-Etch Process Engineering Manager.
  • This is a D-Shift position: Every Fri., Sat., Sun. from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM plus alternating Thursdays from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM

Responsibilities Include:
  • Perform scheduled chemical analysis of plating baths
  • Additions of chemicals to plating baths to maintain correct levels
  • Monitoring of real-time data (pH, flow, temperature, etc.) from process tools, utilizing SCADA software, and taking corrective actions for out-of-control situations
  • Maintenance and calibration of inline chemical measurement and dosing systems
  • Maintenance of laboratory chemical analysis equipment
  • Making of standards used in the calibration of analytical equipment
  • Record keeping in lab systems/logs
  • Work with engineers and specialists to develop and standardize best practices across shifts

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with chemical handling safety and lab safety
  • Comfort working in lab and cleanroom/factory settings
  • Ability to independently perform routine chemical analysis, chemical adjustment, and equipment maintenance
  • Attention to detail in reviewing analysis data to ensure the quality of outgoing results data
  • Capability to independently troubleshoot and problem-solve
  • Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills

Preferred Experience:
  • Strong chemistry, analytical chemistry, and/or chemical process control experience
  • Experience with analytical chemistry techniques such as (U)HPLC-UV, (U)HPLC-CAD, (U)HPLC-ECD, IC-CD, IC-UV, ICP,-OES, ICP-MS, XRF, UV-Vis Spectroscopy, and/or Wafer manufacturing/systems experience
  • Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Lab Information Management System (LIMS) software experience.
