Specializes in cloud-native architectures, microservices, and distributed systems.Essential Functions1. Contributes significantly to the development and successful execution of the bank's architectural vision and roadmap, focusing on cloud-native architectures, microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures. 2. Partners closely with the Chief Architect to ensure alignment of architectural strategies with the bank’s long-term goals, influencing both tactical and strategic decision-making. 3. Leads the creation, maintenance, and governance of Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), ensuring that architectural decisions are thoroughly documented, communicated, and adhered to across engineering teams. 4. Promotes and implements agile architectural practices like SAFe or Scaled Scrum to balance innovation, compliance, and operational excellence. 5. Leads the design, development, and security of REST APIs and microservices architectures, applying best practices for API security including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, and OpenAPI specifications. 6. Leads as Subject Matter Expert on advanced CI/CD methodologies and tools, promoting Infrastructure as Code (IaC), immutable infrastructure, and DevOps best practices to streamline and secure deployment processes. 7. Oversees development and standardization of modern observability and debugging frameworks across the enterprise, utilizing a suite of tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, PagerDuty, CloudWatch, App Insights, Dynatrace, or New Relic to proactively manage system health and performance. 8. Establishes and sustains standards for monitoring, logging, and alerting, ensuring systems are robustly monitored for performance and reliability. 9. Champions security best practices within the software development lifecycle, integrating DevSecOps and shift-left principles to proactively manage security risks. 10. Ensures that all architectural designs meet regulatory requirements and internal security standards. 11. Acts as a key liaison between technical teams and executive leadership, clearly articulating complex architectural strategies and decisions. 12. Mentors and guides engineering teams, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages continuous learning and innovation. 13. Works closely with business, product, and architecture teams to ensure the "Business capability model" accurately reflects architectural strategies and is aligned with business objectives. 14. Collaborates with Data Engineering to enhance data governance practices, strategizing on cloud migration, application rationalization, and data-centric architectures. 15. Leads the development of architectural patterns and proofs of concept (POCs), setting the standard for innovation and technical excellence within the engineering teams. EducationBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field requiredWork Experience12 years of overall hands-on experience spanning various disciplines of the software development lifecycle, with a proven track record of delivering customized software solutions as well as commercially marketed products through SaaS models. required 8 years of leadership experience in either managing engineering teams or delivering (not just strategizing) software projects . required 7 years of practical experience in API security, best practices, and standards including OAuth 2.0, JWT, and proficiency in OpenAPI specifications. required 5 years in architecting and implementing cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure or GCP) that could have involved FAAS/serverless or Containerized workloads, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins etc) and agile methodologies(scaled scrum, SAFe). required 4 years in architecting and leading the implementation of event-driven architectures via platforms like RabbitMQ, SNS/SQS, Kafka or Azure Event Hub etc required 3 years in using or rolling out a suite of modern observability and application monitoring frameworks/tools within the applications you managed (eg. Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, Datadog, NewRelic) required Prior Experience in a highly regulated industry like banking, leading architecture across large teams with a proven track record of delivering organizational outcomes. required 1. Demonstrated experience showing effective communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders (Business, Product Managers/Product Owners, Architects, App Dev Teams, Operations).2. Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of steering technical discussions and driving architectural decisions.About CoBankThe typical base pay range for this role is between $154,057 - $214,216. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.The listed salary, other compensation and benefits information is accurate as of the date of this posting.
