Position Overview & Purpose
The Business Sales Manager at LiveOak Fiber is a key role responsible for driving the growth of small and medium business (SMB) and enterprise business sales and revenue. This position's primary purpose is to develop and execute sales strategies, foster strong client relationships within the business sector, and lead and manage a high-performance business sales team across our markets. The position works closely with the Chief Revenue Officer, the Director of Sales, and the Vice President, Strategic Programs to build and maintain the SMB program and accelerate SMB sales.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement effective sales strategies and tactics to achieve revenue and growth targets. Define target markets and segments for B2B sales efforts.
- Sales Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage a team of business sales representatives. Set sales goals, monitor performance, and provide coaching and mentoring.
- Client Acquisition and Relationship Management: Identify and cultivate new business opportunities and leads. Build and maintain strong client relationships, including key accounts.
- Sales Process Optimization: Streamline and optimize the sales process to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. Implement sales automation tools and technologies.
- Sales Presentations and Proposals: Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations and proposals to prospective clients. Collaborate with marketing and technical teams to create customized solutions.
- Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats. Adjust sales strategies based on market dynamics.
- Sales Reporting and Forecasting: Track and report on sales performance, pipeline, and progress towards targets. Provide accurate sales forecasts to inform business decisions.
- Customer Satisfaction and Retention: Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention by addressing client needs and concerns. Implement customer feedback mechanisms and improvement initiatives.
- Other Duties as Required. Adjust strategy, processes, approach and job responsibilities as needed, as the company and the sales organization evolves. Lead and inspire the sales team to be flexible to changing needs as the company evolves.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proven track record in business sales and sales team management.
- Excellent sales strategy development and execution.
- Effective negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software and sales tools.
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and competitive sales environment.
- Flexible - willing and able to adapt to changing needs and priorities and do what it takes to get the job done.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in B2B sales, including a minimum of 2 years in sales management.
- Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field.
- Experience in SMB/enterprise sales within the telecommunications or ISP industry.
- Prior experience in a startup.
- Familiarity with fiber optic technology and services.
- Certification in sales management or a related field.
