Overview

The Inhouse Global Database Support Team is responsible for operating the Banks most business critical and sensitive internally hosted Database infrastructure. We operate a follow the sun 24x7team located in all global regions and have Databases and staff in major hub and branch locations. We are searching for a professional who is proficient within Database (Oracle) and Other comprehensive income (OCI) Cloud environment, to take on a senior role in Database support and incident and problem management. The role requires a Database Administrator (DBA) with extensive experience in a large investment banking environment. As the DBA, you must be an expert with Oracle database administration with strong experience in Oracle Exadata Database administration, configuration management, performance management, troubleshooting, analysis, and capacity planning.

Rapid response to incidents, providing dedicated support to all 'Change the Bank' and 'Run the Bank' activities for Global Database infrastructure

Advanced system tunings to application specific requirements. Systems standardization and automation

Database Subject Matter Expert (SME) for critical escalations pertaining to Database Ops. This will also extend to provide support to vendor teams, while keeping the Database environment compliant with the technology roadmap, such as database upgrades, patching etc

Working closely with Database engineering and third-party vendors

Interface with Information Technology (IT) and business clients at all levels of the organization, Independent and self-driven

Be part of our follow the sun model (including weekend escalation support): Global Database team provides round the clock coverage. Some out of hours and weekend work will be required to comply with applicable change windowsHow You'll Lead

As a senior member of the team, you will have a key relationship with our Major Incident Management team, representing us in the Bank's Command Centre

You will be a lead resource and point of escalation for junior members of the team and be expected to provide guidance, both technical and managerial, to those team members

Major Incident Management, along with peer infrastructure support teams such as Database, storage or windows support groups will look to you for assistance and collaboration when dealing with issues or initiative that cross disciplinesSkills You'll Need

Experience with Oracle database administration and experience with Oracle Exadata, as well as Experience in automation through scripting (Shell, PERL) and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform) etc., with management of databases using Enterprise manager Grid Control, and with utilizing workflow and management tools

In-depth experience with Oracle database from release 11g to 19c and Oracle technologies RAC, Data guard, Goldengate, Oracle EXAC[redacted] & EXAC[redacted], proficient in database administration: upgrades, patching and configuration management, performance management, troubleshooting, analysis and capacity planning

Strong experience in Oracle cloud and tooling with expertise in Exadata Cloud @ Customer and in Exadata Cloud @ Customer Autonomous and strong experience in Oracle Database Migrations to cloud

Extensive hands-on experience managing and maintaining Exadata machines. Strong exposure to Exadata hardware with a good understanding of compute nodes, storage cells, InfiniBand switches maintenance, support, and troubleshooting with Experience with Exadata Quarterly Patching, software, and firmware upgrades, experience managing Oracle ZFS appliance, including managing shares, pools, a good understanding of the governance required to retain production availability (including checks, patching, capacity management, security), and a good understanding of oracle cloud EXAC[redacted] is desired

Knowledge of server concepts & architectures, network and firewall concepts & architectures, and enterprise storage concepts & architecturesSkills That Will Help You Excel

Bachelor's Degree in computer science or equivalent. Preferred Oracle certified master with OCI certification

Good communication skills

Ability to apply technical principles when performing troubleshooting

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Jacksonville office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Jacksonville, FL is $100,000 to $155,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
