Reimagine What's Possible

We are seeking an Operations Specialist for our West Coast Green Hydrogen Plant and associated equipment in Casa Grande, AZ. The plant consists of Alkaline Water Electrolysis (AWE) and 10 ton per day liquid hydrogen plant supplying green liquid hydrogen for various customers throughout the region. The facility will use two large industrial scale electrolyzers to produce gaseous hydrogen, which will be converted to liquid hydrogen using Air Products' proprietary technology. The site will also include an ultra-high purity water production unit and a terminal for distributing product to customer locations throughout California and other markets.

The Operations Specialist will be primarily focused on the AWE hydrogen production and ultra-high purity water unit, while supporting the Operations Site Supervisor in the 24/7 operations of the facility. This individual will track KPI's and improvements for the hydrogen facility. This person should have a strong background in instrumentation, electrical, PLC's, and an intermediate understanding of ultra-high purity water processing plants. The candidate must be self-motivated, safety conscious, a good communicator, along with good organizational skills. The Operations Specialist will be different than the Operations Site Supervisor in that they will facilitate more of a technologist role in electrolysis to produce hydrogen. This individual and Operations Site Supervisor will work together to successfully run and maintain the plant.

Roles and Responsibilities:Safety performance and actively participating in the Basic Safety Process (BSP)Provide technical support and leadership to facilitate the development and performance of the maintenance departmentPromote and support engineering both within the organization and equipment vendors through effective communicationsPerform and maintain all administrative responsibilities, with an emphasis in tracking equipment performance to establish planned maintenance activitiesSupport the Operations Site Supervisor in all aspects of the day-to-day operation, including troubleshooting plant process, instrument, controls, and electrical problems, coordinating maintenance activities, driving plant efficiency and plant projectsSupport in the leading, training, and mentoring of eight plant operators, one I&E, and one maintenance technician in the production of liquid hydrogenIdentifying maintenance concerns, developing, and implementing corrective/preventive measuresQualifications/Requirements:

Strong electrical, instrumentation and process backgroundExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficient PC/Microsoft skillsExperience in DCS systemsFlexible for night and weekend call-ins for technical support as requiredPlan, organize, lead, mentor and develop resourcesSort and analyze data to detect and improve failure trendsAbility to lift to 50 pounds and climb laddersClean driving record requiredSAP knowledge a plusThis is a safety sensitive position and be able to wear appropriate PPE and be able to physically perform all tasks in the field.Education/experience:

High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience requiredTrade School or Technical degree a plus but not required5-10 years of operations experienceIndustrial plant, power generation, gas, and/or chemical process operations experience are preferredMilitary candidates and veterans are encouraged to apply! This position would be best suited for Junior Officer/CWO/LDO or Non-commissioned Officers with specific focus on a technical leadership background. Examples would be, but not limited to, experience in propulsion systems, engineering fields, nuclear power.
