Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team in Livermore, CA, specializing in Private Works projects. The ideal candidate will have 10-20 years of experience in estimating, with a focus on Water, Sewer, Storm Drain, and Underground Construction. HCSS estimating experience is required. The successful candidate will have a strong background in estimating and project management, with a proven track record of accuracy and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage estimates for Private Works projects, including water, sewer, storm drain, and underground construction- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and bid documents- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and subcontractors- Conduct site visits and walkthroughs to gather information and assess project requirements- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management, engineering, and operations- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards
Requirements:
- 10-20 years of experience in estimating, with a focus on Water, Sewer, Storm Drain, and Underground Construction- HCSS estimating experience required- Must have worked for a Contractor- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
Skills and Certifications:
- HCSS Estimating Software- Estimating and project management principles- Construction methods and materials- Contract administration and negotiation- Project scheduling and phasing- Risk management and quality control- Communication and teamwork
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Public Works projects- Knowledge of industry-standard estimating practices and techniques- Certification in HCSS Estimating Software- Experience with other estimating software, such as PlanGrid or Bluebeam
