The role we are looking to fill:Communications & Marketing SpecialistA Communications & Marketing Specialist at BCBSWY contributes as a member of the External Affairs team to innovate and support strategies consistent with our brand standards by creating engaging content to strengthen our brand and reputation with customers, external partners and employees across multiple media/communication platforms. This individual with also leverage and improve our existing communication by identifying new and more effective channels/platforms and methods to effectively communicate messaging to target audiences.The core responsibilities and accountabilities include: Support elements involved in successful implementation of communication plans and marketing campaigns to ensure message alignment, channel optimization, scheduling, copy creation, design components, performance measurements and other production needs.Support community outreach activities, including coordinating materials and promotional items to support engagement with BCBSWY and enhance brand awareness.Research and produce content that is informational, educational and drives engagement.Create and maintain communication contact lists and design of electronic media.As a member of the External Affairs team you will work with other departments and subject matter experts in fostering productive partnerships to identify communication needs and develop materials such as letters, brochures, manuals, mailings, and newsletters to implement initiative-specific marketing strategies and communication plans.To be successful in this role, you will need to have advanced copywriting, editing and written communication skills, advanced Microsoft Word and PowerPoint skills, intermediate knowledge of multimedia technologies, and strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple priorities concurrently while meeting deadlines. Graphic design and experience with Adobe InDesign, and PhotoShop is a plus.To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience.This role may require evening and weekend hours as needed on a periodic basis and minimal travel typically within the state.BCBSWY Employees Enjoy:Best-In-Class Health Insurance at minimal to no-cost for BCBSWY employees!
