The Role
Do you want to make a difference at the enterprise level and be part of a highly collaborative, cross-functional team committed to ensuring the quality of various reporting and voting activities for Fidelity Fund Investment Operations (FFIO)? \u00A0

We are looking for a Corporate Governance Analyst who will review & analyze the proxy materials and then conduct and oversee the vote in accordance with Fidelity s proxy voting guidelines. You will meet with Fidelity investment management and members of portfolio company boards of directors and senior executives to communicate and potentially resolve corporate governance and executive compensation issues raised under the guidelines. You will collect and analyze voting and engagement statistics and conduct research on corporate governance and executive compensation trends. In addition, your responsibilities include:

  • Discusses proxy voting and corporate governance issues with Fidelity investment professionals, legal, and senior management
  • Stays current with corporate governance and executive compensation trends and conducts additional research as needed
  • Maintains strong working relationships with peers, internal business partners, and external vendors to support the voting process and conduct research Contributes to department-wide initiatives in support of individual, team, and department

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor s degree: advanced degree preferred
  • 2-4 years of financial services experience
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to take initiative to tackle problems, identify risks and raise issues appropriately
  • Proven record prioritizing multiple priorities, high volumes, timelines and resolving sophisticated problems
  • Advanced Excel skills conducting data analysis with proven ability to draw conclusions and summarize findings
  • Ability to identify operational improvement opportunities
  • Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability and focus on achieving objectives
  • Ability to collaborate with senior personnel and business partners
  • Training and mentoring other staff on subject matter
  • Experience with or interest in shareholder and corporate governance issues

The Team

This dynamic Investment Proxy Research Team within FFIO coordinates the proxy voting programs for Fidelity s affiliated advisors including FMRCo, FIAM, FIC, Strategic Advisers, and other internal business partners. Program activities include corporate governance research and analysis, portfolio company engagement, policy development, vote execution and operations, various reporting, and disclosure of vote activity.
