Strategic Capture Lead - Defense Systems

DescriptionThe Defense Systems Sector of Leidos is seeking a Strategic Capture Lead to drive profitable growth and secure a variety of contracts leading to programs of record (PORs). The successful candidate will oversee the full capture life-cycle, lead multiple pursuits and proposals, and collaborate with government research and development customers. This position requires adapting to Leidos' proposal protocol and understanding Leidos products and services to effectively lead capture efforts. The role may be based in Huntsville, AL or San Diego, CA with remote work flexibility.Mentor other capture, BD, and operations professionals, supporting the larger Defense Systems business team.Collaborate with team members, BD, and operational leadership to develop call plans and position Defense Systems for success.Gather, assess, and validate customer requirements, working closely with BD leads to identify needs and constraints.Develop value propositions, program strategies, and win plans throughout the capture lifecycle.Lead significant capture activities, build industry and Leidos-internal teams, and assess win probability.Characteristics necessary for success:Business and technical visionStrategic thinkingProblem-solving skillsAbility to establish and maintain solid working relationships and communication with technical staff, managers, and peersBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:BA degree with 15+ years of relevant experience or Masters with 13+ years of relevant experienceLeadership skills to execute significant capture activities, build industry teams, and assess win probabilityKnowledge of Department of Defense, RDT&E CommunityExperience with federal government budgets, investments, and acquisition processesUnderstanding of contract and payment typesExcellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and business acumenADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Degree in STEMExtensive knowledge and success in winning captures with defense and national security agenciesExperience transitioning R&D programs to operational end usersOrientation towards solving problem areasSecurity Requirements:
