As a founding member of the finance team you will partner closely with the Controller to build financial processes and procedures. You will be responsible for maintaining your assigned areas of the balance sheet and will be involved in Clozd's first annual audit. You will also have the opportunity to assist the build out of certain areas in preparation for the audit and serve as a mentor to part-time staff. The position requires a broad understanding of accounting principles and the ability to analyze financial information, reconcile accounts, and assist in the preparation of financial reports. This role will report to our Controller and is an in-office role in Lehi, UT.

What you will be doing:
    • Reconciliations: Prepare reconciliations for various general ledger accounts, including cash, receivables, payables, fixed assets and accruals.
    • Close: Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting and timely closing activities.
    • Accounts Receivable: Oversee the processing of invoices, payments, and collections as needed. Work closely with our part-time intern to ensure timely processing.
    • Financial Forecasting: Support the FP&A team in optimizing Clozd's cash flow and revenue forecasting models.
    • Process Refinement and Automation: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the accounting workflow.
    • Audit Support: Assist the company through audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and providing necessary support to auditors.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure financial data accuracy and support strategic initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's preferred)
    • 2+ years of accounting experience
    • Broad understanding of GAAP and capable of researching topics
    • Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting
    • CPA certification preferred
    • Experience with NetSuite and SFDC is preferred
    • Experience with deferred commissions and/or capitalized software preferred
